Of all the paved joints in all the places in all the world, you’ve got to ride DH49. Sad thing is, this remote, squiggly, oceanside ride looks so great on a map, it can’t possibly live up to expectations. From a distance, it wouldn’t occur to you that it may actually have bumpy Pavement and poor Engineering. Or that WSDOT hasn’t said “Pave it again, Sam” in quite a long time. But it doesn’t take much riding to see that a few little Character flaws don’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy old world. If you get over your romantic illusions, you’ll grow to love the tight twisties, remote beach stretches and water views. And if you don’t, you’ll always have Sekiu. If you come all the way up here and don’t get on this DH, you’ll regret it. Maybe not today and maybe not tomorrow. But soon, and for the rest of your life.

  Riders Reviews:
"Curve city as it hugs the coast. The Makah reservation is beerless. You can reach beautiful ocean beaches from Neah Bay which has motels. There is also a short walk to the awesome Cape Flattery"--Neil Thomson neilbthomson@yahoo.com
